Best Press-On Nail Tips!

Applying press-on nails is an easy and quick way to achieve a polished look at home. Here's a step-by-step guide to applying press-on nails:

What You’ll Need For Best Press-On Nail Success!

  • Press-on nails (a set that includes various sizes)

  • Nail glue (or adhesive tabs)

  • Nail file

  • Cuticle pusher

  • Alcohol or nail polish remover

  • Cotton pads or wipes

  • A buffer (optional)

To-Do List For Best Press-On Nail Results

  • Prep Your Natural Nails:

  • Clean your nails: Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them. Remove any old nail polish with nail polish remover.

  • Push back cuticles: Use a cuticle pusher to gently push back your cuticles.

  • Buff your nails: Lightly buff the surface of your nails with a nail buffer. This helps the press-ons adhere better.

  • Close-up of a hand with long, glossy, pale pink nails, set against a neutral background, evoking a sense of elegance and simplicity.

Choose the Right Size:

  • Lay out your press-on nails and choose the sizes that fit each finger. Make sure the nail covers your natural nail from side to side without being too wide or too narrow.

Apply the Glue or Adhesive Tabs:

  • Using glue: If you're using glue, apply a small amount to the back of the press-on nail and also to your natural nail. Be careful not to use too much to avoid overflow.

  • Using adhesive tabs: If you prefer a temporary hold, you can use the adhesive tabs that often come with press-on nails. Simply peel off the backing of the tab and stick it to your natural nail.

Apply the Press-On Nails:

  • Align the press-on nail with your natural nail. Start at the cuticle and gently press the nail down onto your natural nail, holding it for about 10-15 seconds to ensure it sticks properly.

Repeat for All Fingers:

  • Continue applying each press-on nail one by one, ensuring they’re securely attached. Press and hold each one for a few seconds.

Shape and File (Optional):

  • If you'd like to adjust the shape of the press-on nails, you can gently file them to your desired shape (square, round, almond, etc.).

Clean Up:

  • Use a cotton pad with some nail polish remover to clean up around your nails if any glue has spilled or if you want to make the edges neat.

Let Them Set:

  • Allow the nails to fully set for a few minutes before doing anything that could cause them to pop off.

Tips:

  • If you're using glue, make sure not to use too much—just a thin layer will do.

  • For longer-lasting results, avoid wetting your nails or exposing them to too much pressure right after application.

  • If you want to remove the press-ons later, soak your nails in warm soapy water and gently pry them off, or use a nail polish remover that’s safe for press-on nails.

Enjoy your new fabulous look!
